A series of interviews that Cottonopolis’ James Erskine & John Lentaigne conducted with John Gray the political philosopher are to be broadcast from December on Current TV, Al Gore’s media company.

The documentaries should be online at CurrentTV’s website from 11th December 2008.

Cottonopolis produces video for 4AD

Cottonopolis was chosen by indie label 4AD to produce the video to accompany the release of Mojave 3’s single, Breaking the Ice. The film - directed by Bradley Beesley - was delivered on time, on budget and to a high specification. It can be viewed on 4AD’s site and elsewhere.

James Erskine directs episode of Torchwood

Cottonopolis’ James Erskine recently directed an episode of the hit BBC drama Torchwood.

James directed the episode Random Shoes which aired on the 10 December 2006.

Flaming Lips Live at the Manchester Apollo

Cottonopolis produces a live recording of the Flaming Lips at the Manchester Apollo.

Working with US based director Bradley Beesley and record label Warners, Cottonopolis produced live footage of the Flaming Lips at the Manchester Apollo for a forthcoming live DVD. 6 HDV cameras were used with several operators and Cottonpolis fulfilled the brief at short notice and to the highest standards.

Mates of State - “Ha Ha” music video

After a successful collaboration on their “Proofs” video, Mates of State and Cottonopolis Films have teamed up again, this time for “Ha Ha”.

Cottonopolis was chosen to write, produce and direct the video for Mates of State Ha Ha. As ever, the end result was delivered on time, on budget and to specification. The video can be seen on the Mates of State website.

EMR - pioneering simultaneous release

‘EMR‘, Cottonpolis’ first feature film, was completed in early 2005. The film was made on a micro-budget and shot on HD. A work in progress was screened at the DC Independent Film Festival and won the Audience Award. EMR subsequently won the Jury Prize at Raindance 2004 for ‘Best UK Feature’. In early 2005, EMR won Germany’s cult Weekend of Fear Festival, taking the jury prize for best feature, the Golden Glibb. The film also won best feature at San Francisco’s Fearless Tales Festival. The UK cinematic release subsequently by Dogwoof Pictures made history as the world’s first simultaneous release.
